Relyco Introduces Canadian Laser
Cheque Stock
Fully CPA Compliant
|
|
| |
The new
Canadian Payments Association (CPA) Standards,
which took effect in
June of 2007
(Note: the CPA has since extended the deadline
for compliance to September of 2008), call for
some distinct design changes to cheques drawn on
Canadian bank accounts. For this reason,
Relyco has added a new line of CPA Compliant
Cheques to meet the needs of our Canadian
customers. The new items in our Canadian
Stock Cheque line incorporate all of the
new Canadian cheque standards laid out by the
CPA, while maintaining the same level of
document security as our existing
Basichek®
and
Magnachek™
laser cut sheet
lines, as well as our
UltraSeal™
line
of pressure seal one-piece mailers.

The
CPA design changes primarily affect only
the back side of the cheque, so the front of our
Canadian Laser Cheques will be identical to the
faces of our traditional American
Basichek®,
Magnachek™,
and
UltraSeal™
lines,
with the lone exception being the addition of
the Maple Leaf Symbol in place of the usual
Padlock Icon in the lower right corner of the
cheque, which denotes that the cheque is CPA
compliant (Canadian) as opposed to
ANSI
compliant (American).

The backer of the CPA
Cheque Line has several changes, including the addition
of a Teller Stamp area, the Maple Leaf Symbol in place
of the Padlock Icon, and the word “Back” printed in both
English and French. The most noticeable difference
on the new Canadian Cheque Stock is that all of the
information is printed “portrait”, meaning that one can
easily read it without turning the cheque sideways.
On American cheques, the Endorsement area and other
printed information are laid out in a “landscape”
format.
