Despite the Hike, You Can Still Go Postal!

In the wake of the most recent round of rate increases set forth by the US Postal Service, many of our clients have called us looking for ways to reduce their suddenly skyrocketing postage costs.  For many who were mailing catalogs, manuals and other large, flat items in 9”x 12” sized envelopes, the rate hike took them by surprise, causing their rates not just to increase, but to more than double.  Needless to say, this kind of increase is cause for concern, and has sent many a marketer searching for ways to beat the system.

At Relyco, we’ve had a chance to look at the rate increases and how they’ve affected different parcels, and one thing that really stands out is that the rates for mailing 6” x 9” envelopes are now very favorable when compared to those of 9” x 12”, 10” x 13” and other, relatively large parcels.  So, if what you’re mailing can be folded or even re-designed to fit in a 6” x 9”, we recommend you try it, as you’ll find the rates are substantially lower.
