In this age of identity theft, taking steps to prevent white-collar criminals from getting the resources they need is absolutely essential. Paper tray locks are rapidly becoming a necessity for businesses, hospitals, government entities and other institutions.
Simply put, a printer with paper tray locks prevents unauthorized access to the paper inside the printer. The front of the tray has the paper tray lock that must be in the “open” position in order to open the tray. The back of the printer must also block access via a fortified metal plate.
If the answer to any of these questions is "yes", then the opportunity for someone to steal your forms exists.
Hey, they’re just forms. What could happen?
Paper tray locks are a deterrent. When the opportunistic person sees the locks, they are forced to hesitate before committing an unlawful act. It is easy to stuff some forms down one’s shirt, but it is quite another thing to break open a locked printer or to steal a printer outright.
Because there is so much on the line, from both the individual and corporate positions, it is critical that forms that could be used to commit a crime are secured. Paper tray locks on printers can help do exactly that.
