How do Relyco's products accomplish these steps?

Use features that prevent alterations to a printed check…

bullet Check paper security features - Relyco has a full line of ultra-secure check paper.  All of our checks have at least 10 security features, with features including void pantographs, gradient screens, watermarks, micro printing, toner grip and thermo chromic ink.
bullet All of our check paper has chemical reactivity properties.  When a check is in contact with chemicals that may be used to remove toner, the check visually reacts and the tampering is evident.
bullet TCWS has the option to print a secure amount font that can be printed along with the check amount written out in words. This font makes it very difficult to modify the check amount for fraudulent purposes.

Control access to check stock and the equipment needed to produce legitimate checks…

bullet Our MICR Printers have options to lock printer trays.  When locked, access to check paper is available only with a physical key.
bullet A removable USB hardlock key prevents unauthorized usage of the TROY Check Writing Software at the computer workstations. Without this key, the software cannot be started and checks cannot be printed.
bullet Our MICR Laser Printers have the option to control the printing of checks through a removable key.  Only when the key is in the “MICR On” position will checks be printed
bullet Our MICR Printers have the option to require a PIN to be entered before checks are printed.  The print job will be paused until a PIN is entered into the control panel of the printer.

Control when checks can be printed…

bullet By removing the software’s USB key and the printer’s key, checks can only be printed when an authorized user is granted access to these keys.

Control who in your organization can print, reprint and sign checks…

bullet

Access to the software is limited by a secure user name and password.

bullet Each user name has customized operator privileges.  These privileges include the ability to reprint checks, run reports, access to individual accounts and supervisor rights.
bullet Supervisor rights are split into access to User Administration, Account Administration and System settings Administration.
Control of digitized check signing by use of three fully customizable signing thresholds.
bullet Signatures in TCWS are encrypted.  The signature files are embedded in the TCWS database files and cannot be copied or printed using any software program other than TCWS.
bullet Signatures can be set to print subject to check amount limits defined for each TROY Check Writing Software operator or bank account.  Signatures will be dropped from checks as at these limits.
bullet A second signature line can be added as well at set amount thresholds.
bullet There is an option to set checks such that they cannot be printed or signed without proper authorization.  The requirement can be that a signer’s signature card must be swiped through a card reader.  Or, a supervisor must log in to finish the check printing for all checks or checks at certain dollar amounts.

Be able to report exactly who printed which checks when…

bullet TCWS has an Audit Reporting system gives all the important data of a current check run: the check amount, check number, check date and payee name.  It also reports the user that printed the check, the number of signatures on each check and the number of times each check was printed.  The Audit report has the batch totals as well.
bullet The Archive Reporting system provides historical information of all checks printed with the software:  the check amount, check number, check date and payee name.  It also reports the user that printed the check, the number of signatures on each check and the number of times each check was printed and the time and date each check was printed
bullet Archive Reports are totally flexible.  You can run reports based on any field, including date, company, bank account, payee, check amount (i.e. all checks greater than $50,000), user and reprinted checks.

Use of the Positive Pay module…

bullet Positive Pay (optional module in TCWS) - With the Positive Pay module, you can generate a file with the printed check’s information (i.e., check number, check amount – file will vary per bank’s specifications).  This file is sent to your banking institution over a direct modem connection or via a secure internet site. The responsibility is then transferred to the bank:  they are to clear only the checks that are listed in the Positive Pay file.  If a check comes in for an amount different than what is in the file, the bank notifies you and the fraud is stopped.
