Get to Know Relyco – Stephanie Metcalf, Account Executive

Stephanie Metcalf is one of our Account Executives. Her attention to detail is both appreciated and admired by her co-workers. Her sense of humor is ironic and self-deprecating, so she fits right in with our culture.

Stephanie Metcalf has worked at Relyco since April 2017. She serves as one of our Account Executives. Her attention to detail is both appreciated and admired by her co-workers. She is extremely thorough and we love her for it!

Stephanie is an outgoing and down-to-earth person. She’s not shy and seems able to talk to just about anyone, which makes Stephanie an excellent networker; she often attends after-hours events at our local Chamber of Commerce on Relyco’s behalf.

She has a long-running joke with Kara and Steph O about their collective sense of style; all three ladies seem to show up to work wearing very similar outfits each day. Her sense of humor is ironic and self-deprecating, so she fits right in with our culture, where the majority of us share that same wit. Check out her interview below to learn more about Stephanie:


What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Motivated, outgoing, charismatic. Those are my mother’s favorites.

How long is your commute to work?
1.6 miles. [she laughs] So 6-8 minutes, depending on the lights. I also, as a sidebar, frequently order my Starbucks coffee and go the long way because if I order it when I leave my house, then it’s ready when I get to Starbucks. Then I can walk in, pick it up and then come into work. I have a caffeine addiction.

Do you drink coffee or tea in the morning?
Coffee! I drink coffee all day, yeah. I usually do two cups in the morning and one in the afternoon. I’m currently drinking a Red Bull sugar-free because coffee just didn’t do the trick today.

Who was the last person you texted?
My friend, Cassie.

Do you have a favorite pen?
This really is my favorite pen! It’s my Relyco IPS pen!

What do you wish your customers knew?
I wish they knew how much effort we put into our customer service. I really do, every time I speak to a customer, make sure that I have their best interests in mind. We want to be competitive with pricing, but we also care about their projects and the things that we do with our customers. As a backstory, I came from large corporations and I think that gets lost a lot, so the small family feel, where you actually get to know the person that you’re dealing with is important to me. It’s part of what I like about working at Relyco.

Describe your happy place.
The beach. In a nice chair with a beverage. [She’s not alone in that! Many of our staff members mentioned a beach: Michelle, Lyndsay, Jennie and Tyler P.]

If you could talk to your 16-year-old self, what advice would you give?
Calm down. You just kind of learn to take it as it comes. Life throws you a lot of curveballs and I think I’ve learned how to take them and just kind of roll with the punches.

Your house is on fire, what’s the one thing you grab?
My two cats: Danny & Dougie and if they had the good sense to run out of the house – which they would because as soon as the door opens they try to escape – I would grab my blankey from my childhood, which I still have. I’ve had it since I was born.

Where is/was your favorite place to visit while traveling?
My favorite place was Disney World, Epcot specifically. Now as an adult, as I’ve gone to more places, my favorite place was Ireland.

What’s your favorite song to dance to?

If you could hang out with someone (living or deceased) for the day, who would you pick?
My grandmother. She lives like two hours away. I just don’t get to see her as much. I lived with my grandparents up until I was ten. So we would probably end up going out to lunch, T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, Kohls and then having a very large glass of wine in front of the fire.


Before she became an Account Executive, Stephanie served as a Sales Development Representative. After gaining tons of product knowledge and experience, Stephanie moved into her new role, where she works with new and repeat customers. She also specializes in our Integrated Payment Solutions and has a wealth of knowledge about AP automation. So it’s not always just talking paper when she’s working with folks!
