Near the southeast corner of British Columbia lies a province called the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK). It’s from this province, nearly 3,000 miles away from our Dover, New Hampshire headquarters, we get our latest Photo Applications Contest submission!
The RDCK’s local government uses REVLAR waterproof paper for printing important municipal announcements. Here’s what they told us about it:
The RDCK owns and operates 19 water systems spread over a large geographical area. In the event of a water outage emergency or emergency repairs we use the door hangers to notify the affected water users. Our Utility Technicians find this an immediate, effective and efficient way of notifying our customers. In an emergency situation we don’t have time to send a notice in the mail and calling our customers is not always feasible either; therefore hanging a notice on their doorknob is an excellent way getting the message out.
REVLAR synthetic laser paper is waterproof, tear-resistant, and is designed to withstand high and low temperature fluctuations, making it the perfect material for the RDCK’s door hangers. Utility technicians don’t have to worry about the notices being destroyed by wind, rain, or worse before residents see them.
Another paper plus for the RDCK is printer compatibility. REVLAR is certified for use on many digital presses, including Kodak, Xerox, Ricoh, Canon, Konica Minolta, and more. The RDCK’s printer of choice? A Ricoh Pro C5100s printer.
