This Month with Bruce - January 2022

I hope you’re having a wonderful start to your 2022. We recently held our 2022 Kick-Off Meeting with our entire staff, and I wanted to take this opportunity to share some key takeaways. We experienced great progress in 2021 and have exciting plans for 2022.

The pandemic has served as a catalyst for many individuals and businesses to take a step back, evaluate their day to day activities and set some new priorities. At RELYCO, we found that we actually got closer to our customers and had deeper conversations with you. As a result, we asked ourselves some big questions about the direction of our company in 2020 and 2021. As we solidified our larger goals, we began to map out imperatives that would serve as the foundation to create a new path forward.

Here are some 2021 highlights:

  • To support our larger goals, we grew our team with several new hires, reorganized our departments and simplified our processes.
  • We enjoyed our strongest second half of the year on record.
  • The year was not without its challenges. Like most businesses, we've dealt with (and continue to experience) supply chain disruptions. I'm really proud of our team for navigating those issues as seamlessly as possible to limit the impact on our customers.

Entering 2022

As we begin this next year, we continue to implement changes that will help us to achieve our ultimate vision for our company. To support our efforts, we’re growing and investing in our eCommerce platform so that you can enjoy the flexibility, convenience and ease of shopping online. We remain committed to navigating the supply chain disruptions, and we’re looking at those challenges as opportunities for innovation to better serve you.


Another top objective on my mind for 2022 is sustainability. We have set a target goal to be fully sustainable within the next five years. We want to be greener and more efficient and we’ve heard the same from you, our customers. Over the last few years, we have been making investments in a more sustainable office environment. These are small steps, like changing out all of the fluorescent lighting, implementing a composting program and completely eliminating one-time use plastic in our office kitchen. 

Now we are ready to build on those small improvements and turn our attention to the rest of our business practices. We’re working on offering new sustainable products, which will give you a larger variety of options to fulfill your needs, while aligning with your values. We will be evaluating our vendors, suppliers and partners to make sure that their practices fit within our goals. We know that some changes will need to be made, and we’re excited by the challenge.
