Operations Specialist

The role of the Operations Specialist is to provide product knowledge and expertise to guide RELYCO in making strategic decisions to best support our customers’ success. This position requires the ability to maintain strong relationships with our vendors to provide detailed and accurate quotes, negotiate terms for RELYCO, and provide pricing feedback promptly. This role calls for a detail-oriented, highly motivated professional with excellent communication skills who maintains a sense of urgency. This position will report directly to the Director of Customer Success.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of technical product knowledge to be a lead source to RELYCO regarding vendor capabilities & limitations, industry equipment, techniques, methods, product offerings and current industry trends.
  • Review new business opportunities in pre-production meetings and provide feedback as needed.
  • Create and analyze specifications to make informed quoting and vendor job allocation decisions.
  • Create RFQs, item numbers, and item descriptions to send to the appropriate vendors.
  • Follow up, review, and confirm pricing received from vendors to ensure requirements are met.
  • Negotiate with vendors for the best pricing and lead times.
  • Answer questions or concerns from vendors during the RFQ process.
  • Compare vendor proposals and provide summary feedback to Sales.
  • Visit vendor plants to ensure products are being produced to RELYCO standards.
  • Accurately detail and record vendor abilities, and identify new business avenues and vendor capabilities.
  • Attend customer meetings to discuss product details to ensure we are quoting/producing an accurate solution.
  • Manage vendor stock and custom order processing.
  • Track order progress and provide order status updates to customers and Sales.
  • Update orders to ensure the accuracy of the item description, cost, additional charges, and information that accounting will need to invoice accurately and promptly.
  • Responsible for shipping carrier selection, freight quotes, creating shipping documentation, and scheduling pick-up requests for orders.
  • Manage and resolve Action Items for customer quality concerns.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing department to provide updates and produce RELYCO POs as needed.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, two to four years of related experience; commercial print or production-based industry experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with CRM software, preferably Salesforce.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing environment with enthusiasm.
