Bobby Crowley has been at RELYCO since April 2021. He and Cassandra Duranceau started at the same time! Bobby serves as a Customer Service Representative / Estimator, which involves processing orders, relaying information to customers and vendor relations.Bobby is originally from Peterborough, New Hampshire, but he was living in New York City before the pandemic. He decided to move back to New Hampshire during lockdowns, and that’s how he found us! Bobby is a big asset to our team. Beyond doing a terrific job, he’s also just a really likable, funny person. Bobby Crowley, CSR / Estimator It’s easy to fall into a conversation with him and quickly find some common ground, which made this interview a total delight. See the interview below to learn more about Bobby in his own words: What three words would your friends use to describe you?Funny, easy-going and…oh gosh. Did you write this? So you know what you’re putting people through! [he laughs]...empathetic.What skills / hobbies / habits have you picked up during COVID lockdowns?I think it just gave me more time to focus on the things that I had half-heartedly started, and just a little more time - like you don’t have the commute - so you can do things like the laundry and the dishes and clean up a little bit before you start your workday. Those things you don’t want to do after work. Once five o’clock hits and it’s like now I can enjoy the things that I kind of didn’t always have time to. I got really into my fish tank, which was great. I’m having trouble with the fish tank because I really want like a fifty gallon huge thing, but I live in an apartment, and I know a year is going to go by and then we’re going to move, and then it’s like what do I do with this? [he laughs] So that, and I picked up painting at some point and then it kind of fell off, so I’m trying to get back into that. What's your favorite season?Definitely fall. Yeah, I’m not a huge warm weather person, so the fall is perfect. I don’t know what it is, the mix of the sad of the changing of the seasons, but knowing winter is coming, which is exciting.Do you drink coffee or tea in the morning?Coffee. But I did just get - I don’t know if you’ve seen them - the Japanese tea sets where you steep just little tiny cups of tea and then you pour them over little tea animals as a whole ritual thing. So I’m trying to get into that as a form of meditation. But you know coffee, I need it.What’s your favorite smell?Oh the dryer vent! Oh yeah. Wherever in the building the dryer is coming off of, and it’s that fresh laundry smell? Yeah.Do you have any pets?Yeah, I have a cat, Roxy. Her age is unknown. I swear she could be seven, or she could be twenty five. I don’t think anybody knows. It was my girlfriend’s pet growing up, and then when we moved to the Bronx her mom was moving to a new house, so my girlfriend was like, “I’ll take the cat.” I was never a cat person, and now I am. She’s laying on my lap, she’s all over me.What do you listen to in the car?I’m a serious offender of having like ten songs that I’m listening to for a month, and I just burn them into the ground until I hate them. So, I just put on my “Liked” Spotify playlist, start at the top and let it go. It’s very eclectic. I don’t even know how to describe it. But it’s all over the place. A lot of Steely Dan right now. Steely Dan is my favorite band.Describe your happy place.Probably on the couch, the apartment has just been fully cleaned, there’s nothing going on the next day. The windows are open, there’s a nice breeze and I can just do whatever I want. I think the happy place isn’t really a place, but more of a mindset of like, everything is done, and now I can fully enjoy whatever I’m going to do.What would you choose for your “last meal”?[He laughs] Would it depend on the crime? Like, if I did something really bad? Definitely caesar salad, big caesar salad person. Probably caesar salad and pizza, I think that’s like a premium combo! I’m not going to get too fancy with it.Your house is on fire, what’s the first thing you grab?I grab all the caesar salad mix I have and whatever I can to get discounts on pizza! [he laughs] No, to please what I think is the right answer, grab my girlfriend and my cat and get out. But if I’m alone there, I will grab my phone, my laptop and there’s nothing else in there. I guess I could carry the fish tank, but I don’t see that going well. [he laughs] I guess I should tip over the fish tank to help with the fire situation. What’s your favorite song to dance to?Wow. Probably something by the Bee Gees. Love a good disco song!Do you have one favorite holiday tradition?Yeah, during Christmas - I have three siblings, so there are four of us total - before we were allowed to go downstairs and open presents, we all had to sit on the stairs and my dad would read a note that “Santa” wrote. But obviously he wrote. I hope there’s no children reading! [He laughs] Yeah, so he’d read a thing about how we were good kids that year, and as we got older it got really cute because he’d start to tear up. He’d be like, “oh you know, I love you guys so much.” And we’d be like, “that doesn’t sound like Santa.” [he laughs] And it’s been really nice because as more people get added to the family - like I have a girlfriend now, my brother has a girlfriend - so they get put higher up on the steps because there is only so much room. It’s a sweet, emotional thing now. And I’m just like, oh this is a heartbreaking way to start out Christmas morning! [He laughs] In the nicest way possible.
